The Territory is a long way from everywhere else, and that is what makes an interstate move here different. A run from Brisbane or Adelaide to Darwin covers thousands of kilometres of highway. Your furniture spends days on the road, not hours. So the way we pack a truck, and the way we price it, is not the same as a move across town.
We move people to Darwin and across the NT from every mainland capital, and we move people out of the Territory when the posting ends or the job changes. Defence postings, mining rosters, hospital contracts and university terms drive most of the moves we do here, and they all come with dates that cannot slip.

To & from DarwinInterstate moves are charged by the cubic metre, from $150 per cubic metre, not by the hour. We measure the volume of what you are moving, your furniture, your boxes, your whitegoods, and you only pay for the space your belongings take on the truck.
This is why we do not publish a single flat total, because the final cost depends on the total volume and the destination. A one-bedroom unit and a four-bedroom house going to the same address are two very different jobs. Send us a room-by-room list, or walk us through it on the phone, and we will measure it up and give you a fixed price before you commit.
Plenty of people moving to the Territory want to pack their own boxes and just pay for the transport. That is fine, and it keeps the cost down. We will quote on carrying a load you have packed and loaded yourself.
If you would rather not, our team packs the boxes, wraps the furniture, loads the truck, and unpacks at the other end. Most people land somewhere in the middle: we pack the kitchen and the fragile things, they do the wardrobes and the books.
Between about November and April the Top End gets its wet season, and the roads into the Territory can be slow or cut. We plan around it, but we do not pretend it is not there. When you book an interstate move we give you a delivery window rather than a promised date, and we tell you straight if the weather is likely to move it. We do not guarantee a delivery date.
Moving within Darwin, between its suburbs, or anywhere else in the Territory is charged by the hour, and the rates are the same wherever you are. A man with a van starts at $120 per hour. A house move with two movers and a truck starts at $130 per hour for a 3-tonne truck, and goes up with the truck size, 4-tonne at $140, 6-tonne at $160, 8-tonne at $180, and 10-tonne at $199 per hour.
Every one of those rates includes two movers, the truck, the fuel and the equipment. There is no separate call-out fee and no fuel levy bolted on at the end.
Specialty items are priced differently because they need different gear. Pianos, pool tables, spas and bathtubs start at $350 per hour, which covers the boards, straps and crew needed to move them safely. Cleaning is quoted on the size and state of the property.

Yes. If you want to pack and load everything yourself, we can quote on moving the load for you. If you would rather we did it, our team can pack your boxes, wrap the furniture, load the truck and unpack at the other end. You can also pick something in the middle, where we pack the fragile things and you do the rest.
